weird noise with acceleration

07 jeep compass 4x4 with 5spd manual, 99k miles
my jeep drives normal, downshifts, cruises without any problems. but if you touch the gas there is a weird whine sound. let off the gas and it goes away. it is most noticeable in 4th and 5th gear. it sounds like the sound is towards the bottom of the engine, transmission area. but it is hard to tell from the drivers seat.
I changed transmission, transfer case and rear diff fluids when I bought the compass 1 year ago. I have double checked and everything is full. my tires are all the same with even wear. I'm not sure what else to check. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Does the noise change when stepping on the clutch? How is your reverse gear selection?

push the clutch and the noise goes away. no noise revving in neutral at any speed. its not noticeable in reverse. but it is most noticeable in 4th and fifth gear. I'm not sure if it is speed related some how.

Could be a thrust bearing, or a bearing on the lay shaft.

my 2013 has made the same exact noise since new. 2 dealers and jeep corporate/trouble-shooter says normal. i also even had the ptu fluid analysed which came back kinda suspect from blackstone labs but chrysler refused to accept a 3rd party analysis and the trouble-shooter said normal...

manaul trans fluid looked great though. this noise has been there since about 1000 miles. hasn't really gotten much worse but it has slightly i would say over time. i did buy the lifetime warranty 2 months ago so i should be covered if it goes kaboom unless they try to blame my non-speced tires and wheels installed earlier this year which incidentally weigh less and are same outside diameter as the stock combo......the whine was there way way before any changes i made and is well documented ad nauseum at the dealer.

My Compass started doing the exact same thing a few days ago. We just had a really heavy snowfall and I noticed it after the roads cleared up. Swear it feels like there's some added drag while accelerating as well but that could be in my head. I'm stumped

Thank you. I'm gonna run this by my mechanic.
