We have a Patriot

We have been trying to get a hold of a new Patriot since my girlfriend's lease went up a month ago.

They have not yet been released out here in California, so finally we found one in Nevada and went out this weekend to get it.

Turns out it is better than expected. It sits about 1 inch shorter than the Grand Cherokees (so it sits plenty high), has an awesome classic Cherokee look on the outside, and very aesthetic on the inside.

So much for the break in driving a few hundred highway miles immediately, but so far the gas mileage is awesome.

Anyone looking for an alternative to the Ford Escape, or other small SUV's, this is definately the best looking I have seen. I think it is going to crush the Compass sales.

I was amazed at the rated mpg. Did you get the auto or 5 speed and if auto is there a difference in the posted mileage?

It seems like the rating has gone down on the sticker than what I remembered it to be originally on web sites.

The sticker was rated 24-27 I believe, whereas previously it was 25-29. But we haven't yet kept track of the mileage. I will post it as soon as we have, but so far it seems it will be good.

Got the automatic, you would be crazy to buy a manual in southern california...

That makes sense the 25-29 is for the manual but either way both are good.

So are they showing up on lots now? I'd like to see one in person, not bad looking for the price. Better then the Compass, IMO.

I ordered my Patriot on Saturday. They told me 10 weeks for delivery. This will replace our BMW, I still get to keep my wrangler though

I just picked up a green Patriot Limited 4x4 today. I had heard about the Patriot a few months back and this is the first one to come in within a 90 mile radius of my home. I dropped by the local dealer simply to take a look at it... sat in it, drove it, and they made an offer that I couldn't refuse.

It'll take a little getting used to... quite a bit different from my Scion xB that I traded in.
