This was discussed quite a bit in Kev M's thread:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/tire-pressure-monitoring-system-question-303655/ Touched on again by ponderosa: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/steel-wheels-snow-tires-316666/ and a response from JeepInfoCenter here: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/jeep-compass-karaoke-309972-post2776375/#post2776375 Briefly, DC says you have to stay with the original size tires and wheels, however, I do feel like there should be an eprom or something similar in the TPMS module that could be reprogrammed. After all, it is just a computer.

thanks gramps for the assistance...i wouldnt want to increase the tire size if the tires i wanted came in the 215/60/17, but as of right now its not made in that size. lookin at gettin the BFG A/T or PERRILE SCORPION ATR. the reason behind this is cause we are on the rock and the roads are not always the best and it can get costly changin tires twice a year from the norm to winter type. again thanks.
