tire mileage

For those of you who have had to replace the "Firehawks" what was the mileage you were at when you started to notice a problem with noise? I am at 13,500 and was wonder if I should just get them replaced before winter?

I replaced mine at 22K. They had been noisy for a little while, maybe since 17/18K and I may have been able to get a little more out of them but since I was doing the lift kit I just did it all.

My Compass has never been exactly silent on the roads...can I assume a gradual increase in road noise is on the horizon?

I think that you can expect that. Traction didn't seem all that bad on mine but I did replace them before Winter because the tread depth was getting shallow. I'll hazard a guess and say that you could make it through Winter if you can tolerate the noise. The Tire Rack does have some good sales in the fall as do many of the local tire dealers.
