I saw someone else posted about Continental ProContact ECOPlus and was very happy with them. I looked them up on tirerack.com and they got really, really good reviews - but they were still #2 out of 24 based on some category that tirerack has. #1 was Hankook Optimo H727, which included some rave reviews from Jeep owners. The tires are about $40 cheaper per tire compared with the ProContact ECOPluses in my area, and there are a few "buy 3, get the 4th free" promotions in my area as well.

It seems like the obvious choice... but I've never heard of Hankook before. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Hi , I have had BF Goodwrench , Coopers and currently TSL which I absolutely love.. Yet all the brands I mentioned I thought to be excellent. Good luck and yes stay away from Firestone.
Happy Day, Liako

As a guy who races on the weekends, I pay attention to tires and who caters to my demographic. Toyo, Kumho, and Yokohama have all been choices of mine. BF Goodrich makes good tires but they tend to be expensive. Ditto Michelin, but they are really expensive. Goodyear can make good tires and turkeys. As I think I stated earlier in this thread, the brand doesn't guarantee success. Each make good tires and the occasional turd. Do your research on Tire Rack.

Yesterday AM I got a huge nail in one of my Cooper CS4 "T" tires. I could have had it repaired but I decided to get a set of Hankook Optimo H727's instead because there was so little useable treadwear left on the Coopers. Probably a good thing because a lot of highway miles are in my near future. I was influenced by the tirerackdotcom ratings and other MK owner's testimonials about the Hankook tires. I thought about getting the new Michelin Defenders but they are so new that there are no survey results so far. I had no complaints with the Cooper CS4 "T" tires; they outlasted the OEM Wrangler SRA's and were smoother and quieter but I'm happy with my new choice.
