I first "spied" pics of the 2011 Compass at allpar.com, a great resource for all things Chrysler. I was uncertain at first, but the more I studied it the more found myself liking the "Baby Grand" look. If only I had mine paid off I might consider a new one, he he he.
"There's gold in them hills" (and I'm still stuck in Florida!) ...well, in south Miss now, lol
Black '07 Compass Sport 5-speed 4X4 ("Fortuneer"), K&N filter, cat-back exhaust; RR lift, sunroof, trailer tow group, Boston Acoustic audio, sport bars, rear taillight guards, more to come... Finally got it back from the wife so I can let my Neon R/T rest for a rebuild.
Thats what I am saying. It is awesome that they finally did something for it. I will most likely be traded my '08 in on one of these. They don't have that ugly low hanging front bumper anymore. and they actually have a way to get it out of sticky situations, which means that they finally trust that they can be put into sticky situations. I am very happe with the make over. It has much needed changes made.
I have seem more now on the 2011 Compass. Chysler claims they "reinvented" it in 5 weeks v.s. the typical 6 months +. Wow. They also said it will be discontinued with the Patriot in 18 months. Just like the Chrysler 200, this appears to be a shorts lived revision. They will supposedly release new vehicles on the Fiat platforms.
The base price has increased $4000 on the Compass. Now I like my Patriot for what I use it for,but i would never have paid $4000 more for what I have. This gets the base price into superior vehicle range. I guess I'm just puzzled as to why the did this. The "niche" was there for the given price range, so why change it, only to be changed a model year or two again later? One thing is for sure, I was around Fiats as a kid. I will NEVER own a Fiat.
