Spy shots of the 2011 Jeep Compass

Hello, guys. What do you think of these spy photos which seem to unveil the 2011 Jeep Compass? Isn't it a derivative from the Grand Cherokee? Do you like it?
2011 Jeep Compass was spy photographed. World cars news. Jeep auto news

I first "spied" pics of the 2011 Compass at allpar.com, a great resource for all things Chrysler. I was uncertain at first, but the more I studied it the more found myself liking the "Baby Grand" look. If only I had mine paid off I might consider a new one, he he he.

Black '07 Compass Sport 5-speed 4X4 ("Fortuneer"), K&N filter, cat-back exhaust; RR lift, sunroof, trailer tow group, Boston Acoustic audio, sport bars, rear taillight guards, more to come... Finally got it back from the wife so I can let my Neon R/T rest for a rebuild.

I think what we are all missing here is the Trail Rated badge on the side of it and the tow hooks in the back bumper!

It might not be missing if you look at the fourth picture (taken from the left side).

Anyway, it looks better, when it's black (or dark-blue) like on the first spy pictures. White (or any bright color) do note suite it, I think.

You are both right! Since there are copyrights on these I can't post the whole pics but I did enhance and enlarge the tow hooks and badge. SWEET!

Thats what I am saying. It is awesome that they finally did something for it. I will most likely be traded my '08 in on one of these. They don't have that ugly low hanging front bumper anymore. and they actually have a way to get it out of sticky situations, which means that they finally trust that they can be put into sticky situations. I am very happe with the make over. It has much needed changes made.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to swap out the sheet metal, fascia and trim once they get to the salvage yard. Not wishing anybody ill fortune but maybe a rear ended one could be a donor.

1st edition was a Libby front end and now it's a GC. I did say a long time ago that I thought they looked like a mini GC.

Did you notice the engine/trans skid plate? It looks like the approach angle is better too.

More info at Allpar http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php...s-2011-compass

and finally from Chrysler!

press kit

let me know if you can access the last two. I'm not sure anymore who has to have "permissions". I do so I can cut and paste if needed.

Dang it! Why didn't they update the Patriot the same way?

I have seem more now on the 2011 Compass. Chysler claims they "reinvented" it in 5 weeks v.s. the typical 6 months +. Wow. They also said it will be discontinued with the Patriot in 18 months. Just like the Chrysler 200, this appears to be a shorts lived revision. They will supposedly release new vehicles on the Fiat platforms.

The base price has increased $4000 on the Compass. Now I like my Patriot for what I use it for,but i would never have paid $4000 more for what I have. This gets the base price into superior vehicle range. I guess I'm just puzzled as to why the did this. The "niche" was there for the given price range, so why change it, only to be changed a model year or two again later? One thing is for sure, I was around Fiats as a kid. I will NEVER own a Fiat.

tbh I think it only looks a little less ugly, the "hips" are the worst part. I think they should've kept the patriot and gotten rid of the compass.
