Reiterating part of copm07's question, I am also looking for sport utility bars for my '08 but find the price a little steep. Reading other posts I see that one can get $10 off here and there from the dealer or on ebay, but are there aftermarket sports bars made to fit the Compass? Not that anything by Thule would be much cheaper, but I don't need anything to hold 150 lbs., maybe just a kayak or something. Any ideas?
So sorry again if Im asking for info that is in plain sight, but my poor reading comprehension coupled with short attention span is making it hard for me to extract info out of 10 page long threads. =P Where can I go to look at diferent baskets available. Are the crossbars offered by Morpar my only option? And brush guards anyone?
I have a set of these sport bars that I'd be willing to sell, I just don't know exactly what they are worth used. I'll take any pm's or interest anyone has for a fair price. PM me and I'll send pics if you'd like. Sorry if I have put this in the wrong place. They worked great but she is getting ready to trade in her 2007 Compass for a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
Just thought I'd throw a warning out to all (somewhat related to this thread) I recently outfitted my Patriot with the rro lift, cragar wheels, 29" general grabbers, and the thule MOAB on the roof for the spare. Upon taking a road trip this past weekend, I discovered a significant drop in my gas mileage, getting around 230 miles on a FULL tank of gas, and thats pushing it right to the end. I'm gonna take the basket off to see how much the wind resistance attributed to this. But nonetheless, any out there who intend to make similar modifications beware of the consequences!
Just thought I'd pass along a great deal I found on the cross bars. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170659436581...ht_2418wt_1270
ebay has them for 139.95 shipped. I bought them about a month ago and they are exactly, to the tee, like the mopar ones. (Actually they might actually be oem). I have a low-profile roof rack and fairing on the way as well.
