UPDATE: Just got an email from Mopar Parts America. Chrysler changed the part number for the switch to 4671929AB. Apparently they updated the design or something. So the new price for the switch is $15.36.
EDIT: By the way, they're on back order too
EDIT 2: .....NATIONAL back order

just installed mine. Works like a dream. Didnt buy the kit. I bought all the parts separate. Saved myself about 100 bones. It's hard to believe that all these jeeps need for functioning cruise control is some measly little switch. The base model MKs probably would sell a little better if Chrysler would put these little $5 switches (because thats probably what it costs Chrysler to get them manufactured) in these cars....what some people would do to save a buck

Well, it's the whole concept of the thing gramps!! It took away 20 minutes of my life for labor!! haha! All jokes aside, yes I found a perfect screw to use and it works perfectly. Don't let the dealer's con you into letting them "activate" your cruise control with their big "magic computer". When I ordered the parts the dealer told me to "come on back and get it programmed".

P.s. Im getting bored of your avatar too, time for change my friend

Cruse Control on 09 jeep compass

I want to install cruise control on my 09 jeep compass. I know what to order for kit but one thing I am not sure. In the installation book they say that I need to connect my vehicle to starscan diagnostic tool to install it properly. Do I really need that or is that plug and play ?..I am not sure if dealership will help me without chargine me any money.

as long as its not diesel then yes, it should be plug and play. At least my 08 is. Dont let them try and charge you 65 bucks to do it, becuase you dont need it

No diesels in N.A. It's a plug and play. Depending on how long ago that you bought it some dealers are willing to do a few "freebies" but you won't need them for this. Did you get yours from Don Millers? They have been pretty nice to me in the past and so has Frank Boucher's in Janesville.

I bought it from Russ Darrow. Just got email that chrysler has changed part numbers and I have to pay some extra to get it. I am thinking of cutting a hole on the cover myself so I dont have to pay some 80$ for the plastic cover. Thanks guys for sharing stuff here.

make sure you take an ENTIRE day to do this. It's really not too hard once you learn how to get the door panels off. But it is very time consuming. I did all 4 doors. 2 in one day, and 2 the next day. My write up is pretty detailed. Let me know if you have questions. Ill be glad to help
