Sold my patriot.... Got an XJ!

So I sold my beloved patriot simply to get rid of the car payments I was making, And tonight I picked up a non running 89 XJ. I paid under $500 for it, so I'm not complaining. Engine starts, but won't stay running. but for the price I paid, the body, and interior are VERY clean for a 27 year old car, and I don't think it will take much to get it running.

PO said it was running before it sat, but wouldn't go over 25mph. so this week I'll get some fresh gas in it, and go from there!

Sorry for the bad pictures, i didn't get it home till 9 at night.

I had an '87 years ago and it wouldn't stay running with the exhaust disconnected. Is the exhaust on yours intact? Perhaps a new fuel pump may be a need.
Anyhow, you'll get some answers one way or another. The XJ gurus here have dealt with every scenario.
