Sirius Radio

Just purchased Compass (looks great beside the Wrangler)!,

Should the Sirius radio display the song title and artist?

Mine only displays channel number, was already active upon purchase.

From the Owners Manual, pg 215 (I don't have that option).

These radios will also display the current station name and program type. For more information such as song title and artist press the MSG or INFO button. (Depending on which radio you have)

Does that do it or not?

Thanks for the reply Gramps. Looks like mine is the REF model which does not have that feature.

My REC was the same way until I called Sirius and activated it. Even though it came with the year of service, and was partially functional already, I had to call them with the EIN. After that, I started getting the additional data. I'd give that a shot.

Wow, pretty cool info. If I could get this to work for wife, she would be sooooo happy. We went from having a vehicle that has this feature to not having it and it's killing us. We were going to wait out the one year free subscription and then put a plug and play model in it which is annoying because it's extra equipment but the features are much nicer. Thanks for the info.

To my knowledge, the REF radio does not have the feature of displaying artist and title, even if you have the EVIC. I agree; having used a plug-and-play unit in my last vehicle, the artist-and-title feature is something I miss!

I have that model radio in my new daily driver (08 Patriot). It is the only thing that annoys me about the new car. I'm getting an XM and I usually use the ipod anyway but its still irritating me.
