Saw alot of compass/patriots in Canada!

Man i tell you. i'm lucky if i see one compass or patriot on my 1 hour ride into work and out of work. I crossed the border to Canada going to Montreal coming from New York... i must have saw 10 in hour! Not to mention ALOT of GM cars too! I barely saw any Hondas.. matter of fact i barely saw any foreign cars (except the really expensive ones).

They seem to be selling quite well here. I will typically see one every few minutes when driving around. Pat FD-IIs however are still rare. I can usually go for several months without seeing one.

The Patriot does really well in Canada, IIRC it's 3rd in Jeep sales after the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. It's cheap, solid, comes with 4WD for a great price and...well, Canadians love our Jeeps.

Yeah, in Winnipeg, we're flooded with MKs now. It's becoming a "belly button" vehicle like the Honda Civic.

Personally I've noticed the Compass to be more popular than the Patriot still. But when I took a road trip to Calgary, Alberta, it was quite the opposite.

My wife works for an insurance broker in one of the auto parks, and she says "Winnipeg Dodge" is still selling the MKs like they were free.

I miss having a distinctive vehicle now though :-) It is giving me the urge to do some more modifications.

I've always known that our Canadian neighbors were smart folks. This just further proves it!

We love our trucks and SUVs, we all feel like we need 4WD and, for some strange reason, Canada just really loves Chrysler products, especially Jeeps (For the past few years, you could see a Jeep wherever you turn, now you can't throw a rock without hitting one-probably a Wrangler Unlimited), but we also don't like giant SUVs and have been paying upwards of $3/gallon for about 8 years now. The Patriot is basically the most Canadian vehicle ever.

EDIT: Of course, it doesn't hurt that the Patriot is advertised as 32/40 MPG here.

Yeah, it's a difference for me too. I used to drive a Ford Escort ZX2 that I did up for car shows. (...I was young.) Stood out in a crowd for sure.

I was in Vancouver recently and saw a lot of Patriots there. Heck, I'm such a Patriot fan that I flash my lights/ wave at other Patriot drivers when I see them!

Lots of auto plants across the border. They're all considered North American and home grown.

No Jeep but in the Chrysler family:
Brampton (Ontario, Canada) – Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Challenger
Windsor (Ontario, Canada ) – minivans
Toluca (Mexico) – Dodge Journey and Chrysler PT Cruiser

JF is an international forum based in the US so just for the sake of this thread Home Built means North American built. Home built is based on where you live not corporate HQ.

Toyota, Honda, VW, BMW and maybe some others have plants in the US (maybe Canada and Mexico) and I would call those models built here as being home built although they are foreign corporations.

KIA, Saab, Rover, Porsche, etc are strictly foreign corporation built with foreign labor and are considered imports.

My apologies for hijacking this thread. Back to the topic please.

For about the last 3 months or so I pass a black going to and from work in the opposite direction and of course the other red one right next door. Lots of Jeeps of all kinds in my area. There may be a few more Compass' than Patriots in all colors but not by much. I'm certainly not a loner any more.
