Replacing Fog&License Plate Bulbs

Hey guys just picked up a 2013 Jeep Patriot Latitude w/Altitude Package. I'm looking to replace my fog light bulbs and also the license plate bulbs as well. I removed the cover over the plate bulbs and tried to just pull the stock bulb out but it's tough to get a good grip and I'm trying to avoid using excessive force such as pliers. Any tips? Pointers? The fogs I took a quick peak at tried turning the socket counterclockwise but was tough with limited hand space. I'm trying to do it without removing the bumper or lower piece. Any advice would be appreciated thanks!!!

I believe the fog light bulbs may pull out from the back side.

I have had to change out my license plate bubs and used a small pointed dental pick (probe) to go down the side of the bulb in the slots on each side of the socket and gently pry out the bulb, alternating side to side.

Thanks for the input. As far as the fogs go, is a turn counterclockwise? I tried but couldn't get much leverage.
