Rear Spoiler Removal - 2011 Compass

Does anyone have experience / instructions for removal of the rear spoiler? I'm looking at installing some hazard lights (flashing amber) in the spoiler.

I initially looked at putting them in the tailgate (on the inside) but the tint is a bit too effective!

Thanks in advance!

-Daniel

i'd imagine the entire plastic side of the back door hatch has to come off to get to the screws for the rear spoiler. I have to take the plastic off when i ran cables for the video/power for the rear backup camera. There was one(or two) screws inside the handle (the handle on the inside of the door) and that was it. The rest is pressed on by clips. Removing each of those clips was a PITA, i did end up breaking a couple of them too I'm assuming they are held on by screws too. :-\

This is from a while back and I didn't do any pictures on it. It seemed relatively simple. I could post pictures from the earlier models if it would help. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/m...mpass-1154422/

I found the nuts for the spoiler attachment under the grommets as described. Thanks for the info!

Now I just need to order lights that would attach without putting too large of drill holes in the spoiler. The quest continues...
