Rear door handles on Compass

Wife just got an 08 Jeep Compass, really likes it so far (but still misses her 92 Cherokee Briarwood )

Worried about how the rear door handles will hold up with use during cold winter weather-- has anyone had problems with them freeing up--any breakage problems? They look kinda fragile. Not sure why Jeep placed this type of handle--the Dodge Caliper had traditional type handles that looked just fine

Down to 20 below and no problems. But the doors themselves were frozen shut.

No problem at all this winter with them but as Gramps said, the doors can get frozen shut when it is really really cold out or we have had a lot of freezing rain.

Haha, lowest temperature I've ever experienced was about 10F. This winter we might have had a few spells around 15F. No worries here on my Cali other than the CVT not acting good when cold.

A little off topic but in what way? I did notice mine took longer to shift if it wasn't warmed up, similar to with a regular automatic. Same thing?
