Question about tachometer gauge installation

Hi, I found a 2" tachometer with shift light in my garage. so I would like to install it to my compass, just use it to remind me when to shift up (new stick shift driver). There are three wires, one goes to the positive, one goes to the negative, the instruction said the green wire goes to the distributor, would anyone tell me how to tap this green wire? where is the distributor cap. pictures would help a lot, thanks a lot!

Takashi,
There isn't a distributor- the Patriot has coil on plug ignition- no distributor, no plug wires and, as far as I know, no place to install an aftermarket tach.
