Pulling codes on a compass

i have a WK and had a WJ and you could pull codes off of it by doing an on off key sequence three times. now is this possible do do with the compass?
my buddy (knightfallzx2) got a SEL today and im curious as to what it is.

funniest thing of all after we tries to pull the codes. the odo stayed at ------ for a couple of seconds then said done. now having pulled code on my JGCs before i know that done means there is no codes. so thee are no codes to be pulled on the compass yet the SEL is still staring me in the face. lol. hes taking it to the stealership come monday. i guess we will see what he finds out

In our warmer weather (-15 C) the noise from the engine which I believe has to do with the light being on, has lessened considerably. However, the engine light is still on after about ...12 turn overs since it's first come on. FYI - It came on when we hit -33 Celsius. I wasn't surprised to see something go wrong in harsh climate.

As s10eater said - We're taking it to the dealer on Monday. The Compass is still acting fine in the mean time.

Turns out the code had cleared itself even before s10eater and I could check it out. The engine light had gone out Monday morning on it's own too.

So the dealership checked it out Monday afternoon. Turns out the power steering bump has an internal leak, so air is getting in there where it shouldn't be. We have to wait for parts which will be in next week. They assured it's still safe to drive though and even gave it to us in writing.

Meanwhile, it's now quiet during startup and while driving, with a hint of extra noise when turning the wheel. I think ice was where it should not have been and with the Jeep being indoors for a few hours, helped melt thing off.

They also fixed the squeaky clutch and changed the oil, so it was a productive day for the Jeep.

Darn!!!! The TSB thread is down again because of "over limit" on words. Here are the numbers for the TSBs but sorry, the links are down. Basically it's remove the clutch pedal shaft and lub it. The dealer can tell you more.

Yeah, the dealership knew about the squeaky clutch problem before my wife could even show them the PDF of the TSB (thanks for that by the way, Gramps!)

What I don't get is - that TSB dates back to '06. My Jeep was made in March/April of '08. ...Don't they fix these problems? Why continue to build it w/ errors? It makes no sense...
