Power Window Problem

Yesterday my family put down the Passenger side window a couple inches. Then when they tried to put it back up it would not. So they put it down a couple more inches and it went down but would not come back up. ( You would think they would stop here). They put the window all the way down and yep it did not come back up. What could it be? It will go down but will not come back up?? ?

Sounds like the window regulator. That's basically the gear drive that moves the window up and down.

I had a car do that before and it was the electrical connections in the door control switch. I think a new one was cheap.

when you put it down, did it go down normally? what about when you try and put it up, can you hear the sound if it trying to go up, or is it doing nothing at all? sounds silly, but did you try putting it back up with the switch on the door? every window except the driver's window has two switches. it might be the switch if it was acting normally going down.
