Patriots since 2011.

Hi guys. I'm kinda new here. I have a dilemma of buying new patriot. I've read tons of threads and articles and just got confused. I know the topic was raised so please be loyal. :-)
I'd like to create some sort of poll (I don't know how) about the most common dome light leaking. Chrysler said that it was fixed since 2011 but some people still complain. I'd like to ask owners of 2011-2012 Patriots if somebody has this problem.
And I'd like to ask them if someone already replaced ball joints on 2011-2012 models?
Thank you, I really appreciate your help.

I have a 2011 30,500 miles in 11 months and no leaks or problems yet just the tranny acting up a little but TCM and PCM updates seemed to have fixed that.

I think the tranny is a problem by design.

Well mainly because it was poorly executed. Feels like it slips during normal acceleration. Snappy from power on to power off to power on again. (this is CVT)

2012 with 1500 miles on it and no issues... Glad I went with the 5spd... I enjoy shifting through the gears.

There is a TSB on this and a software update that directly addresses this problem. I had the update done yesterday and the jerking or slipping feeling is now not perceptible. The engine is more responsive.

All you have to do is going in to the dealer and tell them that you are feeling slipping/jerking at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. Let them know that there is a TSB for this and a software update to the TCM is supposed to take care of it. Some Stealerships may hassle you about this some won't. They hassled me about something similar in my wife's Avenger and I had to take it in a second time and drive with the tech to show him what I was feeling and then they did the update for her car.

This time with my Patriot the tech took it out and felt it right away and he did the software update.

I had that tsb flash update done months ago. It was better at first but has since gone back to its old ways.

It would be interesting to find out how this trans model is doing in the other vehicles it's used in. NISSAN LAFESTA, SERENA, BLUEBIRD SYLPHY, DUALIS, X-TRAIL; MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER, DELICA D:5 GARANT FORTIS, RVR;
SUZUKI KIZASHI, LANDY; RENAULT MEGANE, KOLEOS;CHRYSLER DODGE CALIBER, JEEP COMPASS, JEEP PATRIOT.
