Is the Patriot's Advertised MPG Rating Accurate?

Hey,

I just signed up to fuelly.com and looked at all the other Patriot's registered on there and noticed the average mpg was about 24-25 mpg - and the Patriot was advertised 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway.

I realize that mileage differs based on driving habits, mileage on the engine and driving terrain, etc, but these advertised numbers seem really inflated.
Has there been any discussion on this?

Thanks!

We get an honest 30 mpg on the highway with our 5 speed. The Canadian Imperial gallon was 20% larger than the U.S. gallon but has not been used for many many years.

the only way that the advertisiment could be accurate would be for the non US diesel patriot with the 6-spd... I've never seen a US ad that claimed more than 30mpg

I've never seen the Patriot or Compass advertised with 30 - 40mpg. The sticker on my 2wd 5spd said 24-28 and I average 27 with mostly highway driving. Maybe that rating was just mis-typed or maybe it's for some new engine coming out. To be honest I have not been paying attention to what is coming out in the new models.

My pat says 28 when I'm at 65 and the road is flat. With that said, after traveling 180 miles I'll get maybe 24, usually closer to 21-22.

I get 30-32 mpg in an everyday mix of city/highway driving, and 24-25 on the highway towing 2000 lbs. 2.4l / 5 speed
