Then I guess that I own 2 ugly Jeeps. Maybe it's time to go retro and find a nice XJ.

What "roots" would those be? World War 2 roots? The first Jeep-brand SUV was designed in 1946! Plenty of Jeep vehicles were designed to be something other than just off-road playthings. This Jeep company that people here keep talking about, the one that only builds vehicles meant for off-road use only, not only does not exist but has never existed except for a few years during a global war.

Gramps, Sorry I am a die hard WJ grand driver. WK's after owning WJ and drivign them it does not feel right.

the WK except for the srt8 is like any other jeep it can do things most other suvs cant. But the WK should not been called a grand cherokee. I stick with my wj/zj grands .

I love my MK but hope the new Grand is exactly liked what they showed in NY auto show.

To back Tony1911 up since were talking about going back to roots. I just bought a new project jeep. 1950 Jeepster sedan. So I wish people remember there are other jeeps out there then CJs and Wranglers . Though I do love my m38A1 she is a money pit as I trying to get her back to show room status like I will my new jeepster.
