the patriot may be similar outside to the cherokee, but inside it is much smaller, thats why i wouldnt get one. im 6' 4" and i only have about 1.5" between my head and the headliner of my 1999 xj

Here's a couple of Owners Threads, sorry if I missed anybody:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/my-new-patriot-401375/ http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/picked-ours-up-last-wednesday-patriot-399795/ I'm still pushing to put up a pictures only "sticky" but only if it's going to be used. That doesn't mean that you would lose your thread, that's where others can ask you questions. I'm ALWAYS open to suggestions. Just let me know.

(Pics like these make me want one moreso than I did at first, first thought was that's an ugly thing, but its grown on me much more.)

i rented one in Indiana a few weeks ago. It drove really nice, and smooth. There is plenty of head room (im 6'0"). The only thing i didnt like is that it seemed a little under powered with the V6 (i believe it was a V6)
other then that it was nice, it looked a little funny, but im just used to my XJ. Brendan

True, it's no powerhouse, but it's powerful enough to fool more than a few people into thinking it's a V6, and it delivers really good mileage from a gallon of gas. |

I sat in a Patriot in Idaho - dealer had 4 on the lot. It has a good feel. But this is not a 4-wheeler - this is a get around the town and get some groceries vehicle. They did have a trail rated one and it was 20k. I am a little worried with such a small engine, but I would need to drive one and see if it really has some pep.
