Stickered @ $23,000, I paid $21,000. Limited, 4x4, CVT FDI, and a few other packages that I don't recall off-hand. When I can I'll dig out the window sticker.

FDI and FDII are the same as CVTI and CVTII, correct?

I don't see "Freedom Drive I"/"II" as options, when creating a Patriot on the Jeep webpage... The Limiteds have the CVTII and CVT w/ Off-Road Crawl Ratio options.

Make no mistake, dimensionally the Patriot is within inches of the Cherokee. It's much more a Cherokee reborn than the Liberty.

Dimensions Patriot vs Cherokee

Wheelbase 103.7 vs 101.4
Track, Front 59.8 vs 57.9
Track, Rear 59.8 vs 57.9
Overall Length 173.6 vs 167.5
Overall Width 69.1 vs 69.4
Overall Height 64.4 vs 64

Accommodations

Front
Headroom 41.0 vs 37.8
Leg Room 40.6 vs 41.4

Rear
Headroom 39.3 vs 38.0
Leg Room 39.6 vs 35.0

Amy,

The information was not complete on the web site for full configuration of the Trail Rated Patriot until 3/1/07.

The FD I package is the standard 4WD package that comes on the Patriot/Compass 4X4. It is available with the 5 speed or CVT2 (14:1 low ratio).

The FD II package available from the factory on the Patriot is available only with the CVT2L (19:1 low ratio) and the Off Road Group must also be ordered. These 2 items make the Patriot "Trail Rated"

The differences between the CVT2 and the CVT2L is programing. It may be possible for Any FD I equipped MK (Patriot/Compass) can be converted to FD II by reprogramming the transmission and adding the available coolers, skid plates, etc. from the Off Road Group.

There is no CVT I, the CVT2 is DC's nomenclature meaning "second generation" CVT

More info here.
