When I was shopping for tires I thought about getting Yokohama Geolander AT/S in a 225/60/17 size which is slightly smaller than the 28" OEM size. I passed on the idea because I found out the Canadian dealers don't stock that size for some reason and there was no sense in traveling to the U.S. to buy tires.

2007 Jeep Compass Tires

I need to replace the original tires for my 2007 Jeep Compass Sport. Currently the tires size is 215-60-17. I cannot afford new tires and a used tire shop offered me 4 used tires for bout $130 bucks, problem is they a a little bit bigger than what I have now. Can the tire shope guys just pop on these tires and my Jeep will be ok?

Please, lets not have 100 different threads on tires. Here is a list of things that fit Tire sizes

I realize that the main thread is VERY long, Optional Tires and wheels for MK's but it's at least all in one place. Like going to the library and having it all in one book or digging threw 100 different ones.

So after a whopping 22,000 miles my firestone affinity 215/60/17's are at the end of their life. I wanted to go to 215/65/17's. I ended up getting a great deal on some hankook optimo H727's. They are 100,000 mile tires that ranked second in consumer reports only behind Michelin hydroedge. I got a great deal on the tires online at discount tire direct. $108 a tire with free shipping and a $40 mail in rebate. They should be in sometime next week. I will post after I get them on and let you know what I think.

I got mine

I ended up going with 235/65/17. Very happy with em. Nice meaty tires, fill up the wheel well and looks great. Feels like I am driving on air

Went to get my 2008 Compass inspected yesterday and none of my tires pass (Firestone Affinity with 21k -hate them!). I'm new to forums & have tried to read through all the posts on recommendations. I have 215/60/17's on now and am looking for a good replacement - an all season with very good winter traction for snow and ice since I live in southwest PA and travel daily up and down a very very large hill. I was looking at the geolandars but can't get them. I'm wondering if anyone as experience with the Continental ProContact EcoPlus or with the Hankook Optima H727s that bseblfrk09 just purchased. Looking for the best tire for the money but not top of the line as I can't afford that right now.

I am a Fan of the Michelin Cross Terrain. 70k mile tire. Great wet traction. Quiet.
I wouldn't put any other tire on my non-offroad Jeep if I can get the size.
Was on my third set when I sold my XJ at187k miles.

If you go to www.tirerack.com and shop by tire size plug in 215/60/17 you will find 38 tires for comparison and ratings. I was gonna get Pirelli P4 tires but ended up getting Cooper CS4 "T" tires because of price. The Coopers are not listed on tirerack.com and neither are Toyo tires which are very good but pricey too. The Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires are not available in the size for Compass and Patriots.

The Hankook Optima H727s had some high ratings and at a good price. If it were mine..... Also available in 215/65-17 and 235/60-17 for slightly more but they have a $40 rebate going on right now. Keep in mind that nothing works very well on ice except studs, chains and 50 degress plus temps

I went with Kumhos, an "off brand to me" because of price and I'm quite please with them.

Thanks... did all the research on tirerack, tire-easy, discount tire and every other tire site I could find prior to posting. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with the Continental ProContact EcoPlus. They seem to have decent reviews although not many since they seem to be a newer tire. I would have went for the Hankook Optimo's but then would have had to take it to two different places and with working two jobs and no days off, I just don't have the time. I'll give an update on how the Eco's work out.

I put my H727's on last night and drove it about 30 miles. They seem to be like a great tire. They are a lot more quiet than the firestones. I went up to 215/65/17's so they fill the wheel well a lot better than the old ones did too. They handle much better and this is all at a great price. I would recommend them to anyone.

I just put some Motomaster Total Terrain W/T (Mastercraft MSR) 215/70R16 for winter on steel wheels. 2 days and everything seem great. They are much smoother and quiter than the EOM 215/65R17 Wrangler SR-A's... im not looking forward to putting the SR-A's back on in spring.
cheers

Those look pretty sweet and the right diameter too. Looks like Canadian only and does the W/T stand for Winter Tire???

The W/T does stand for winter tire. They are sold as Mastercraft MSR's in the States if your interested.

Here are some pics
