Noob 09 Patriot owner looking for lift kit

Hello All, new to the Jeep world and want to make my Patriot stand out. First on the list, a lift kit. Looking for suggestions on where to start and how various heights will affect the ride as well as factory parts and what I will need to replace...trying to operate within a budget but keeping options open...thanks!

What kind of lift (height wise) are you looking to get into?

Rocky Road Outfitters offers a Jeep Patriot Lift Kit for $399 (if you're really looking to save money), that adds a decent 2 1/8th of an inch to your ride height.

It's a novice-friendly kit, and it doesn't change or modify your ride quality. You just need a set of wrenches, a few hours of free time, and the instructional booklet with pictures.
