I thought that the 3/36 was pretty poor and steered all but the die hard fans away. After all, if that's all that DC thinks there stuff is good for, why not buy brand "X" instead? You can't talk people in to adding on a longer warranty if they don't even bother to come in and look in the first place.

No, probably NOT retroactive. I'll turn over 18K in about 5 weeks, the first anniversary of buying mine. Thankfully no real problems worth mentioning that haven't been easily resolved. How many miles on your on the Cali?

Making it retroactive wouldn't fit with the reason why Chrysler/Cerberus is doing this, which is to attract new buyers...remember, we've ALREADY bought ours.

Unfortunately, there is not much loyalty anymore, on the part of manufacturers OR owners. A lot of people try to turn this into a sad, sad statement, but it's actually the result of better quality, more informed buyers and more choices. The dealer relationship used to be a factor, but since most Americans move fairly often (as compared to years ago) there are less reasons to be a "Mopar/GM/Ford person."

However, a longer warranty MAY be a good excuse for me to get off my butt, sell my classic car and buy a new Wrangler. I test drove one the other day when my Compass was in for an oil change, and it would make a GREAT second car for this middle-aged single guy...that would be a sweet pair to have in my garage.

Jeeps RULE!

I hope DC does up the warranty length. It'll not help me as we leased ours for 39 months but it'll make shopping easy for our next vehicle.
