new-to-us '07 Patriot w/high miles but in good shape
Wife picked up an '07 Patriot Sport (smaller I4, w/ 4x4) two months back with 186k on the clock. Carfax report showed one owner who used it to commute back & forth to work and had dealer perform all regular scheduled service. Only a couple of non-fluid type services, one of which was the lower control arms that I read about being a normal wear-n-tear item. We'd like to make this rig last us at least another 50-75k or more. It's in really great shape inside & out, and underneath, too. Looks like we may get another rough winter so...
I am thinking to get ALL fluids flushed & filled (CVT, radiator, diffs, etc.) along with motor oil & plugs.
Brakes feel a little grabby* when slowing to a stop so I think her rotors may need replacing (warped?), along with the pads. *Doesn't feel like normal ABS "jitter."
BTW... the Check Engine light came on about a week ago. Code indicates some sort of internal wastegate sticking? Does this sound familiar and what kind of price & service nightmare could this lead to?
Anything else you fellow Patriot owners can suggest for us to check out or replace? Any lists, long or short will be of help. Better to address these iotems now, when they can be taken care of at OUR convienience rather than at the worst possible time, per Mr. Murphy. LOL
