I am familiar to some of you, less familiar to others... Anyways, I purchased a 2011 Patriot today. I still have my WK, but really need the MK to take over as the DD for me. My WK gets about 14 combined. My MK gets nearly twice this.
I'll be reading you guys' stickied posts before I ask any silly questions, tc.
Both he and I have the FDII package... Kills the mpg a bit, I average between 19 and 24. This summer its gonna be less because we idle the car more. With 110 degree temperatures, I like to let the ac run before I put the pregnant wife and two kids in the car.
You have one awesome looking GC. Do you still live in NC?
Yes and No... I'm in FLW right now. But I'll be stationed at Ft Bragg for a few years. I'll be back in North Carolina this Fall.

Congrats on your purchase.
Thanks, and Thanks. So i'm a little upset with you guys. Especially you Patriot owners. It's like you guys have been holding out on the rest of the Jeepers. These things drive so nice, and the MPG's are pretty good. They aren't 40's or anything, but still far better than what I get in my WK. The styling is still very conservative to the Jeep bloodline. IMO, THIS thing should have been called the 'Cherokee'. I'm a very proud, VERY happy Patriot owner, this little thing is awesome.
I try to tout the MK every where I go, but nobody listens... I'm hoping that I get a few more MK's to frequent the local club site, but there just are not that many in AZ that I've been able to get on there.
I think that a lot of jeepers look down on the front wheel drive. Personally I'm living my new patriot, I agree it looks a lot closer to the old xj than the new Cherokee coming out this fall. The only thing I would have liked to see was a 6cyl model made available. The 2.4 has plenty of go, but I think 6cyl tend to run a little smoother and quieter IMO.
Your 2.4 is loud... I can never hear the thing. A 6 would never fit in an MK, lol... And those sexy EPA MPG Cale's would go down, down, down (also a really good song). Once you can accept the external styling, which I really like. It doesn't really matter whether it is front or rear wheel drive all that should matter is that it has a capable transfer case, and traverse obstacles. It won't do what a wrangler or some or what the grands have been customized to do, but I don't need it to.
