Hi I have a 2008 (bought it new) Jeep Patriot. I had a question about your Transmission oil over heating light (mine came on then went off taking it to a dealership tomorrow have no idea what I'm getting in to) I bought it new so it should be covered by the warranty if its the Transmission? I will post what the issue is but I would love to see if any one else has had this problem my Patriot is 59,000 miles right now it has served me well. Hoping no major issues.

I just got back from the dealership all it needed was a software update then they charged me 150 dollars for just looking at it (I'm calling jeep corporate to see if that can be looked in to since it's their issue with not informing me about the software update). So if you have a transmission oil light come on check to see what TCM number is they changed mine from 68032123AB to 68032123AC it runs a lot better now too so if you having issues with your transmission slipping or thumping check this out.

Thanks for the update. For the 3 or 4 weeks that I was working at a dealership the main guy who worked on these said to just leave them alone and not even do the regular maintenance because that is what Chrysler told him. Just passing on an FYI.
