Musty A/C smell already?!

So my 08 compass only has about 25k miles and the A/C already has that musty, moldy smell to it. It's very annoying, especially when a lady friend gets in my car and thinks I farted or something dumb. I've never seen an A/C smell so bad with such low mileage. Is there some sort of remedy for this? And dont worry, I've tried every air freshener I can think of...the mold is overpowering. Kind of smells like an old flooded basement or something...

I was thinking that today as well. Maybe the cabin filter needs to be changed? Does anyone know where this is located?
Looks like it is part number 5058693AA and is about 20 bucks.

'07 Compass -> I apologize to the next owner.

To keep this from happening you should really turn off the AC a minute or two before you get to your destination. Keep the fan running to evaporate the condensed moisture in the vents and tubes. Should reduce or eliminate the musty smell. I began doing this in my Jetta and its helped wonderfully.

And if that doesn't work fast enough for you an auto parts place sells a small can of air freshener that you spray right into the vents. It seems to do the job although turning off the AC and letting everything dry out on its own works a bit better just takes longer.
