MK lift kits? OLD INFO

Asking this on behalf of someone else: is anyone aware of a company with a lift kit in development for the Compass?

Since it would pretty much have to be done through spacers, it'll likely only be in the 1" - 1.5" range - which is fine; it'd just be good to know if it can get about as much clearance as a Patriot has stock.

Failing that, does anyone know what the differences are between Patriot and Compass suspension? I'm thinking that a parts swap may be possible.

The Compass has a stock height of 8.1 for the FWD and 8.4 for the 4X4; The Patriot is listed at 8.0 for the FWD and 9.0 for the Trail Rated, not sure about the Freedom Drive I on the Patriot (edit: 8.5"). I haven't found any thing yet myself. The Patriot Trail Rated version uses different suspension components, may be usable on the Compass when they become available. I'm still researching. Still haven't received the Service Manual. I may find more information then. Stay tuned to this channel.

My wife swears she has seen a Compass that has been lifted. She has been bugging me to try and find out if there is a kit available because she wants hers lifted.

I do just about a daily search for MK lift kits and I have found nothing yet. I have seen some doctored photos that were lifted but can't find them right now. Just curious, do you have the Freedom Drive I or FWD? If you run into any, be sure to let us know!

Maybe you could find someone around Phoenix to make the same offer as Rockyroad?

NOTE: Skyjacker site says "coming soon".

I emailed Cyberjeep, who carries Shyjacker, with this question "How "soon" do you think that you may be coming out with a 2" +/- lift kit for the Jeep MK's?"

Their reply:

"Probably not for a year. Usually that is how long it take. But you can check back in about 6 months and if its out we will carry it.

I'm not sure what we've got. It is my wife's ride and I don't pay a whole lot of attention to it. It says 4x4 on the back and has the selector switch in the cab.

I'd be happy to give her car for a prototype. Don't know who we could talk to about it though.

That would be the Freedom Drive I (FD I). Sorry, I don't know who you would talk to in your area. Are there any manufacturers in the Phoenix area to anybodies knowledge? Anybody have any connections down that way?

There are a ton of 4x4 shops around town. No suspension manufacturers that I know of though.

Would a body lift be possible on these?

You're treading on new ground on that. I can't help on that one.

I'll crawl under her car this weekend and see. I would assume no as I'm thinking it is unibody, but you never know.

Calibers are unibody, therefore I believe these are, so I wouldn't think a body lift is possible.

Yup, Compass and Patriot both are unibody too. I don't see how you could do a body lift either. But like Doba said "you never know" and it doesn't cost anything to look.

I was thinking maybe some spacers or something on the shocks/springs, but I dont think that'd work since they're IFS and IRS. TJ guys use hockey pucks for coil spacers. Not sure what you all could do, but I'm not lifting my Cali, it serves a different purpose.
