If you got it up high enough to put 35" on it the approach and departure angles would be great, but then I'd be concerned about "tilt" and getting it to move with the new crawl ratio of 15:1 on the FD II, 11.5 on the FD I and 12.42 on the 5 spd. Whoopee!

I can't help but wonder if the companies making lift kits for the Caliber/Patriot/Compass also own stock in the company that supplies the CV joints to Chrysler...

Naw, if they did they would have made a taller lift so that the CV's would fail sooner. 2 1/4 " is a pretty modest lift. No problems with mine yet and I really don't expect any kind of "early life failure" and if there is that's a price that I'm willing to pay. With almost 44K on mine it's lived 1/2 it's life with the lift kit and I wouldn't go back.

As far as I know RRO is still the only one that makes an MK lift kit other than the custom fab shops. They learned from a "too tall" lift kit that they did for the Liberty's and took a beating for it. **** happens when you're the innovative type. I think that they're really good people to deal with. No I don't have any kind of vested interest in RRO, they're just a company that is bringing specialized products to market that some people wanted.

Zing43 just did his and we were having a conversation during the process. The fronts are a piece of cake. On the rear you have an option of taking the Strut Assembly out first so that the Upper Control Arm is easier to get at OR taking the UCA off first so that the Trailing Arm and brake assembly will drop down more and make the strut easier to remove. Your choice.

I've copied this note to the instructions. MK lift Kit Installation.

Can you trim the fenders on these things and fit bigger tires, say 31"?

it's not the fenders as much as the shocks/struts..... they have a piece below the coil spring that won't fit larger tires.....

Just received my lift kit for my 2007 Jeep Compass, but I am afraid to put it on. Looks a bit complicated. But I guess that's how you learn huh. Gotta go for it.

Quick link to the instructions here at post 7: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/quick-links-mks-off-road-tsbs-parts-books-much-more-519045/

The fronts are real easy, the back ones may bring out a bad word or two but nothing too difficult.
