Maybe Buying Compass, Need Opinion On Price

Looking at a new leftover 08 Compass, FWD. Base, base model. 5-speed, no additional options. I can get it for $12500. What do you think?

sounds like a steal as long as it's new. I bought my base model Compass for a little over 19,000 a year ago. Tell them you'll go 11,500 and they got a deal

Yea, my 2008 Rallye Compass was about 19,500 after rebates, etc (sticker was for $22,500)...not 4 FWD, however!

They've got a Rallye for about $14,500.

The Rallye is definitely very sharp, not sure I can justify $2000 more.

you could talk them down...if they want to sell it, they'll go down on it. Especially if it's an 08, they're tryin to get rid of those like crazy

That sounds like a good deal. I got an 07 Compass, power everything but I paid $14,4K out the door for it. They are super hard to come by where I live but I'm happy I love it

Trying to decide between the basic one and the one with the Rallye package. Is an appearance package worth $2000 to me. That's the question.

My Rallye also had the drop-down tailgate speaker and extra sound w/6 CD changer. While I love the BA speakers, the CD changer has no MP3 jack which is just stupid.
Like you, I am not sure I would have paid 2 G for just the "look" of the Rallye, but the local dealer made me an pretty good offer...

My wife likes the basic black, thinks the Rallye is too "fancy", not Jeep-like. This from a woman driving a loaded-to-the-gills 05 Grand Cherokee Hemi.

Going back down to the dealership tonight. Supposedly some new incentives coming down.

Incentives just changes yesterday, good through tomorrow. $2000 in "red dot" aged inventory dealer cash plus $1000 Chrysler loyalty rebate. Long story short, I'm shooting for $15000 out the door on the basic black Sport WITH 0% financing for 72 months. IMHO, that's a pretty good deal on the price combined with zero percent for that term. As far as I know, that deal with the aged inventory cash and zero for 72 is good on all leftover 08's. It's Chrysler's attempt to help the dealers blow out any remaining 08 inventory.

Picking up my new 08 Compass Sport FWD 5-speed on Saturday.

Having the dealer install Sirius satellite radio and some floor mats, basic otherwise. I'm looking forward to some much better gas mileage than my Durango.
