Manual Tranny Fluid Alternatives

Hello - New poster looking for any input on 5 sp trans fluid.

I have an '09 5 sp Patriot that has a notchy shifts, particularly when cold.

OEM spec fluid is Mopar ATF+4, amd I'm wondering if anyone has any experiences with Amsoil, Redline or Royal Purple fluids. It feels like the ATF+4 is too thin.

Has anyone tried a manual trans or synchromesh fluid rather than ATF?

Appreciate the input.

Amsoil calls for their ATF in their product lookup. The Syncromesh and ATF are very close in weights. I would be inclined to go with the ATF based on the OEM and the oil company's recommendation.

Mopar has been calling for ATF in their manual trans since the early 60's. I use ATF in my A-833 New Process in my '70 Challenger. Back in Tucson I ran 90W gear lube in my 'Cuda. A little slugish during the Winter in the AM, but just fine after it warmed up a bit.
