Loud knocking cold startup

My compass has a very loud knocking noise when started cold. It lasts for about 5 minutes, then goes away. It is definitely engine related, because it speeds up if I press the gas. I'm afraid I am doing damage....Any ideas???

Have you talked to the dealer? They may want to keep it over night so that they can do a cold start.

check the oil. if its low you need oil. what motor do you have? you might just need an oil change but depending on your motor you might have other problems
