Lifted or lowered MK's

This is starting to look really nice...
Quote:

Built by Chrysler Tech Center Vehicle Build Shops, the SEMA Show Patriot features a custom roof rack with auxiliary lights and a custom steel bumper which, according to Jeep, is designed to protect the front end while allowing for as much tire exposure as possible. Talking about rubber, this Partiot gets 31" BFG Mud Terrain tires on 16'' Jeep Moab rims supplied by Prime Wheel which actually look quite good on it. Finally, there's a custom suspension which provides over 11'' of ground clearance....

RockyRoad did this lift on a FWD Patriot so your looking at 10" GC on that model.

They also found out that you can't run wider tires than a 235 without wheel spacers as we noted in out "Bigger Tires" thread and that is also the case with 15" wheels.

The just of the conversations were a rubbing type of noise that had to do with the ABS and a little bump steer which have both been corrected. The realignment is critical so don't over look having it done.

[quote=RockyRoad]The noises were actually the ABS system feathering the brakes during hard corners and such. We've been able to get it all sorted out though and have done our best to rally the thing to get it to happen again. No problems so its all good to go.

The bumpsteer issue has been eliminated as well.

Jeep didn't build this thing to be lifted as they have with the Wrangler and others. We've outsmarted their engineers on this though. As with the Liberty, it might take a few years for modifying the Patriot to catch on... but we feel folks who buy this Jeep over any other similar styled vehicle have a bit of a spirit in them that may not be able to tolerate "bone-stock" for too long.

Here are some pics from Rocky Road. Unfortunately no side by side or before and after. The first is their Rockrails.

The first half of Saturday morning was getting the tires installed and the second half was sitting at the dealers trying to get the alignment done. Their alignment computer kept resetting to stock specs and they didn't quite get it finished. They made it driveable and I'm to take it back next Saturday so that they can double team it and tweak it out. Driving it with just the lift kit and stock tires wasn't that bad, I've driven worse. With the new tires was about the same, it pulled a bit to the right in this case. After the partial alignment it still pulls VERY slightly to the right but I feel that will all go away once it's finished. (Note: after evening out the tire pressue this morning, no more wandering to the right. ) The ride seems to be a little firmer but not harsh, cornering is just fine, I no longer feel like a low rider .

Since yesterday was spent away from the computer I didn't get around to doing the installation write up but I did get the before and after shots and some other comparison pics.

These first 3 are a nose to nose with the wife's stock GC. Stock, Lift Kit and Tires, in that order.

Thanks! Actually the Family and Friends said to keep my wheels because they liked them too. I would have gone to 16 or 17 had I not stayed with what I have. Here's something that I stole from another site. Looks like with only the lift kit and the stock tires on a Patriot.

some pics of the jeep lifted, used a 1 gallon washer fluid bottle just to show how much clearance is gained.

Well I went and installed my lift today... but ran into a dilema. The shop didn't have a wrench that would fit in the tight area to remove the rear upper control arms so I could use the RRO ones. So the lift is installed minus the upper control arms. I have an appointment to get it aligned next Wed. (its the soonest available). But here are the photos:

So do you think I'll issues using the stock rear upper control arms?
