Built by Chrysler Tech Center Vehicle Build Shops, the SEMA Show Patriot features a custom roof rack with auxiliary lights and a custom steel bumper which, according to Jeep, is designed to protect the front end while allowing for as much tire exposure as possible. Talking about rubber, this Partiot gets 31" BFG Mud Terrain tires on 16'' Jeep Moab rims supplied by Prime Wheel which actually look quite good on it. Finally, there's a custom suspension which provides over 11'' of ground clearance....

That will never be an XJ.... if could dream of it... but they'll never be able to bring back the real thing...
I always get a kick out of these attitudes.
The "real thing" like coke with COKE in it?
Maybe there is a reason they wouldn't bring back something, because uhhh, it wasn't all that and a bag of chips to begin with?
I thought my XJ was rugged, and it was a decent vehicle, but for the 90% of owners that aren't gonna be riding trails on a regular basis I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Patriot was a better all around vehicle for most owners.
Yeah, it may not have the towing or torque of the XJ.
Yeah, it may not be as easily adapted to extreme trails.
But I betcha it lasts as long, is as comfortable and more capable on-road, gets better gas mileage and is still trailable.
Think of it this way dude....you have your army, right? k....in your army you have am Infantry platoon. k good. In this sweet infantry platoon you got some SAS attached to you and a recon det with your regular infantry soldiers.
But you also need your support. Administration, water jocks, all the stuff you need to help your specialized dudes do the real mission.
That's kinda like what the patriot/compass is. It's helping the TJ/JK/XJ. It's the support. It will never be an SAS or recon soldier because its not meant to be. It's the support for DC so that it can still make the Wrangler.
You're preaching to the choir my friend, I was perfectly willing to buy a Compass to fill the uhhh, Logisitics roll.
