Our jeep patriot's alarm randomly went off last night after coming home. Today there is no power to the vehicle. Thoughts?

Key stuck in the on position, but still came out. Or dome light.

Alarm went off just as it was running out of power/voltage.

The car was off for 10 minutes, then the alarm started. I'm thinking battery too. Going to try and jump it when I get home. Hopefully it's just that simple.

Ok, the battery is toast. Any recommendations for a replacement?

I would get your alternator checked at the same time though. They tend to fail in pairs.

OK I took the battery to an auto parts store, the battery charged right up. So now I can guess maybe alternator. But if it's not that, then I guess it's a real dilemma. Is replacing the alternator easy on the patriot?

The Jeep started right up with fresh battery charge, but now I have a check engine light. Ugh.

The parts store where you got the battery should be able to check the code to see what the fix is. Most will do it for free.

11 error codes. Jeep starts up by itself and sometimes doesn't shut off when the key is removed. The thing is possessed! Anyway, we got the extended warranty, it will be at the dealer for who knows how long. Thinking it
Might be good to extend the warranty on my Jeep Wrangler.

Sounds like a computer problem with that many codes. Don't you love electronics?
