Jeep Compass + sand dunes = cool video

Take a handfull of Jeep Compasses and a camcorder out to the Oregon Coast to play on the sand dunes.

Yep.. it looks like the Compass has reached the Oregon dunes before the Patriot.

Looks like they handeled themselves pretty well in the sand, too! :)

is that supposed to impress me?? Man i never understood DC stealing designs, they have no originality.:brickwall Oh well, sorry for my short rant.

IVIYTH0S 07-16-2006 09:33 PM

well i am sick that they just keep copying of dodge counterparts and why werent they showing us something that looked like taking a shortcut to the grocery store when you dont need any food

I saw an AWD volvo doing better than that on the beach last week. seriously. is that suppost to be showing off or something?

woody-77 07-30-2006 09:01 AM

My nieces Barbie Jeep could do what the Compass is doing in the picture.....and throw sand further.

paultyler 07-30-2006 09:16 AM

That may be the most pathetic video of "offroading" I have ever seen in my life. Seriously.

Why pretend. That is not an offroad vehicle. Leave it on the roadways. I'm speechless.

I'm sure the paint enjoyed that.

I'd like to have seen some starts from a stopped position. I use my XJ to drive on the beach and surf fish. Deep sand that you need to lower tire pressures to below 20psi. Almost any vehicle can drive in sand like that if speed is maintained. I worry that a CVT tranny won't work for my application, but 30 mpg has got me wondering.

Just watched the Edmunds review elsewhere in this forum. Averaged 19.5 mpg. I get 18 all the time w/ my 91 XJ. This is the last time I'll visit the Compass Forum. See yah

Too bad your leaving. I'm getting about 25 mpg out of mine with the CVT and only 700 miles on it but, I guess you'll never know that. Edmund's is a British revue, their test units aren't broken in either and they probably keep them floored all of the time. Any 4X4 to the British is called (unaffectionately) a "Chelsea Tractor". What can you say.

AggieCJ 08-10-2006 10:07 PM

man I am selling my CJ tomorrow and getting one of these.
