Jeep Compass - Modifications

Hi All,

I've been searching everywhere online, including these forums - trying to find anyone and everyone who owns an MK and has made upgrades/modifications to it - specifically to enhance off-road use.

Here are some plans I have for mine, a lot of which I can't do till some aftermarket parts are available. I'm looking for advice/comments from anyone who has already made modifications to their MK, and can point me into the right direction.

- Lift Kit / Suspension modification (say 2- 3 inches), to increase approach/decline angles
- Nudge Bar
- Engine performance (Diesel - EngTec or Steinbauer box)
- Exhaust upgrade (compatible with the CRD - Turbo Diesel)
- Hi flow panel air filter (Mopar or K&N, compatible with CRD Turbo Diesel)

Also i've read that the Patriot in the US will be available with Freedom drive II as an option? Is this true, and if so - will us Compass owners ever have an option to upgrade?

Thanks guys!

There are many of us waiting for these to become available. Nothing yet.

The only items in this category that I'm aware of are from Startech. Go here and click on "News" or "press release" for more info:

The Patriot is available now with FD II but only with the CVT. It's a programing change that drops the ratios down, among other things. FD II is not available on any manual transmission such as your 6 speed.

Thanks for the reply Gramps, as usual - much appreciated! Yes, we are all eager to see some aftermarket parts (suspension lifts, etc), can't wait for them to be available. Seems like there are some keen manufactures to fab them for any volunteers though - i'll try some local crowds here in Oz.

I also contacted Jeep head office in Australia, about importing the Startech gear. Unfortunately none of the performance (chip & exhaust) options are available in Australia, as it is not yet certified for our emmissions laws, etc... bummer.
