Jeep Compass

Does anyone like the design of the compass so far?

I personally think it looks more like a rav4 with a liberty front end:brickwall

what are these for? off raod or more for the younger group?

is this IFS up front also?

looks ugly to me,

Edit for:

its the same platform and design as:
http://www.dodge.com/en/caliber/index.html (but at least this you can get a 300 HP SRT)
What the Dodge and jeep are platformed off of
http://www.mbusa.com/models/body-sty...y=sportsTourer
(could be wrong but to me all the same design diffrent body panals)

IFS front and rear. Think Subaru competition.

The MK vehicles (Caliber, Compass, Patriot) are on what was once a Mitusbishi platform.

That's all it is.

I don't like this trend.

We are going to have to face the facts. The days of real jeeps are numbered.

Ohwell. They stopped making my favorite model in 1992, so it's not like I care.

The days of real Jeeps ended in 1986, with the production of the last CJ.

Jeep has not always been a line of serious off roaders. The Willy's wagon and Jeepster were not extremely capable vehicles. I feel Jeep had their most capable line up when they made only the GC, Cherokee, and Wrangler. When the Liberty was introduced it was the start of the weakening of the brand. What's most dissapointing about the Liberty is that it dosent even offer Quadra Drive II to seperate it from other SUV's. The Compass is dissapointing becasue it dosent offer a high HP turbo to compete with Subaru's rally dominance.

I have to say I really never thought about it but would have to agree, I really was never in to jeeps and in the 80's I was busy playing with my Transformers:laugh: But with introduceing of the Liberty starting a fab with Jeep and that IFS crap.

Edit to add: the GC, Cherokee, and Wrangler of my age and era (29) Older Guys & Gals will most likely dissagree

I don't like it at all. Makes me want to barf. I am disappointed in this model, from what I can see.

AmaBuffXJ 04-30-2006 03:58 AM

I am DEFINITELY not a fan of the obvious future of Jeep. This is the first model that is really going to spoil the Jeep image. Thanks a lot Chrysler.

PS. Not a fan of the Liberty or Unlimited either for that matter. And the new four-door Unlimited....ridiculous

jeep loser 04-30-2006 08:15 AM

The interesting fact here is that most of us that say we don't like the new line up, Are not even considered customers by Jeep anymore. When was the last time you were at the dealership? So why cater to us when we are going to drive around in 10-20 year old Jeeps anyway?

bokey 04-30-2006 02:32 PM

:agree:

But its not to say that jeep is starting to become a big disappointment. They WERE known for their being extreamly cabable off road, etc. Now...well I don't know. :(

And I CAN'T STAND the new 4dr Wrangler WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
