i thought the patriot was going to replace the liberty?

i was in my study (bathroom) and i read something about the redesigning of the liberty in '08. i thought maybe the patriot was going to replace the liberty so i signed on. then i go to the liberty section to ask them and i see pics of the '08 liberty. so Jeep is going to have the Liberty, Compass, and Patriot? all 3 being "cute utes"? kinda overkill, but i am already making plans for a Patriot purchase after they have been out for a couple years. then gonna get me a budget boost for a few hundred dollars so i can fit some 27" super swampers.

Liberty will be rear wheel driven when in 2 wheel drive, have a two speed transfer case, solid rear axle and a greater towing capacity. Not quite a cute ute in my definition. But I do prefer the solid front axle on my Cherokee than the IFS of the Liberty.
I'll avoid me rehashing my opinions on the Compass vs Patriot.
1st one- 1989 Cherokee Laredo. 12 great years
2nd one- 2001 Cherokee Limited. Got it before they were gone.

The Liberty is gettng redesigned for 2008 (see the link below). I like it, looks like the WK and XK. Jeep just needs to put a 4.7 V8 in it as an option.
