How to change stock muffler to black?

On a new 2010 exhaust muffler you know they turn colors (ie rusty). Can you put something on it so it does look so bad from the rear? Prefer a black color You look at from rear all you see is the big muffler sitting there. Not looking to upgrade exhaust too expensive at this time. Thanks

I've heard of folks using flat black hi-temp grill paint.

I used Krylon BBQ Black spray paint. You can get it at Advanced Auto or other paint stores. It is the perfect shade of black with a nice satin/matte finish. I've used it for years to touch up frame & parts finish on my TJ Wrangler. I sprayed my Patriot exhaust black last summer and it still looks great. I hated the look of that huge silver exhaust.

Eventually it might fade.. but just keep touching up as needed. I had a Patriot for 3 years and touched it up maybe twice.

Engine Enamel works well also, with a lot of corrosion resistance (road salt, the elements, etc)

Finally got some. After bad weather, cold, etc. Just used. Look great for the purpose. If I have to retouch 1x a year would be great. Thanks

Buy a new '14. They already painted the muffler black.
