Help with hitch installation

I bought an aftermarket class 3 hitch receiver which says will fit on my 2014 Patriot. The holes line up ok, but looks like I'll have to remove muffler and some other stuff in order to install. Anyone have any advice? I can handle a wrench but I'm not a weekend mechanic. I don't want to get in over my head. Appreciate any help.
