Good place for a 4ch amplifier !

Hi everyone ,

Just got my Compass last Thursday Aug 29 ! Liking it so far !

I was wondering is there was a place to put an Amplifier in the dash ?

I was going to put some speakers in the back but now I'm thinking more about replacing the door speakers with a decent pair ! Probably the Pioneer TS-D691R's.
I'm assuming from what I've read that the door speakers front and rear ARE 6X9's !

I don't need that much power so I'm looking for a good 4 channel amp 50 RMS watts /ch !

I hope I don't have to run the wires to the back or under a seat !

Thanks in advance !

Pete

You might find enough room at the bottom of the center stack or behind the glove compartment but I don't know what the heat dissipation would be like. It may be less trouble to pull the door scuff plates and quarter panels than to pull the pieces to get under the dash.

and to the group!

What I would highly recommend to you, based on your requirements listed, would be to buy a Class D or higher amplifier. Example - Alpine's Class D amplifiers. Small amps, good power, highly efficient which means you can run thinner power/ground wires and they won't put off as much heat.

Yes, you would have no problem mounting one in the dash. One issue you could possibly have though is noise. With all the wires in the dash, noise could be an issue. Highly recommend running your ground wire up to the battery if possible, this will help for this specific install.
