Good deal on 2007 Patriot and mpg on 4x4

I am very interested in purchasing a Patriot, we have a '48 cj and a '97 tj and a---- Toyota Highlander, don't hate me. I would like to get better miliage than the Highlander, which is my every day car, 19-20 mpg with mixed driving. A local dealer has a new 2007 Patriot 4x4 Limited for $20,500 off from the sticker of $25,000-+.

First question- Is this a good deal?
Second question- What mpg should I expect on mixed driving, think its an automatic, haven't seen yet?
Third question- What are the differences on the base models of the 2007 and the 2008?

thanks for your assistance.

I just purchased a leftover 2007 Compass MSRP $26,020 Paid $18,000, so you have more room to negotiate. Remember the 2009 will be out in the fall.

Yeah - the sticker on my 2007 Patriot (ltd., 4x4, FDII) was $25,000 and I paid $19,000. That's a $6,000 discount.

I'm averaging 22 MPG in 50/50 city/highway driving. Frankly, I drive pretty fast and should do better. And, having the off-road package also loses a few MPG.
