Getting VSS signal in non-premium system Compass

I did a search and read some posts, but can't figure out for sure if it is possible to obtain the VSS signal using either the PAC or Peripheral adapter with a non-premium system equipped Compass.

Peripheral Electronics CAN-BUS Interface (CHYAH05) or PAC C2R-CHY

Has anyone installed an after market NAV in a Compass that didn't have the premium system and use one of these modules? If so did the VSS output work on the module?
