Gas Mileage/Break-in

Sorry, but there is no seach function for me.

I have a 2.4L 08 Jeep Compass with CVT2 w/ Autostick. I would like to know if the mileage improves after a break in period and if so, how much?

How much improvement have you all noticed? With my test at around 400 miles, I averaged 24.3 MPG using mostly highway. I am hoping to get around 26 or more. Do you think this might be possible after more engine break in?

Thanks!

It may creep up some more by your first oil change and that's about where it will stay depending on driving conditions. It's hard to say where it will end up, probably some where between 24 - 28 mpg but within the EPA mileage.

It will do the same as the Compass': http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/compass-actual-mileage-316907/

Patriot gas milage

My husband and I both drive '08 Patriots, both manual tranny.
He drives long distance, and has gotten up to 30mpg. I've gotten as high as 29 on long trips using the cruise control a fair amount. I'm usually averaging between 17 and 24 around town. Kicks a** compared to my gas hungry '05 Xterra!
