Fuel guage won't go past 3/4 tank

Quick search reveals that all fuel tanks/sensers/guages are essentially the same amongst manufacturers. Some folks with this problem have waited it out and it corrected itself/recalibrated. But with 2 top offs today, it won't read past 3/4. Once I drive 75-100 miles its accurate at about 2/3 tank and below. But on a fresh top off my EVIC reads 190 to empty. Others with this problem have traced back to faulty fuel sending unit. I'll watch it fir a week or two then get it looked at. Should be under warranty.

The fuel sending units can get crudded up, this has been even more problematic with the ethanol gas. "Techron" fuel system cleaner has a good reputation for cleaning them up and it has worked for me for just that purpose in the past.

It seems to be working again. Kind of silly problem to have at 19,000 miles.

The fuel that day was Shell.

As one of the Big Six gas companies, if you can't trust them you can't trust any of them.
