Five Speed Shift Knob

I was wondering if anyone has put a different shift knob on their 5 speeds? I have a compass and I wanna put one on, but I'm not sure how the old one comes off. Any input helps.

Thanks, Eric

1) Grab shift knob firmly in hand
2) PULL!

Apply cold beer to forehead where the shift knob whacked you when it finally popped off

as for replacing it - I haven't done it yet - but I've been window shopping
