Engine Cover

I just bought a 2012 Compass FWD Sport. Like it but confused as to why the engine cover is only put on the "export" models. If anyone knows why please let me know. I did find the part number and do plan to purchase and install it. 04891715AB is the 2.0 cover part number. Just in case anyone else needs it.

I believe it is just the 2.0 that did't have the engine cover and everything else did, domestic and export. I can only guess it was to save money because they sold for a discounted price.

The dealer told me 2.4 and 2.0 domestic models are minus engine cover. Even looked at a half dozen of each engine size.

The biggest reason for it is noise, it has sound deadening on it, and keeps the engine noise down...

The cover also keeps the coil packs, coil pack plugs and wires protected from road dirt, salt, mud, etc. Otherwise they may prematurely breakdown.
